February in Hong Kong is a great time to visit the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden.

Take a bus to the top and visit the memorial pavilions, in particular the T.S Woo Pavillion as there is a forest of pink blossoming trees, including the Chinese New Year Bell flowers and the Taiwan Cherry / Bell-flower Cherry trees, with their resplendent pink flowers covering the branches. Here you will also find many Japanese White Eyes busy in the flowers, and also the fork-tailed sunbird (Aethopyga christinae) pictured above. Here it is next to another tree flowering at the moment, the ubiquitous "Flame trees" that can be found around Hong Kong.
