I always thought that the Vesper was a drink mixed (shaken, of course) by James Bond to snag those amazing bond girls...but, hey, it is also Vespa affinis, or the lesser banded hornet.
This is a common hornet in tropical and subtropical Asia. ... and they have really cool nests with fantastic designs.
Above is the whole nest, sometimes found high up in trees, but here about 10feet off the ground up a high fence.
