Herons galore

As mentioned, we are still in Kowloon park, and looking at the The black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax), or black-capped night heron, or commonly shortened to just night heron .

Hold on a dang minute, i hear you say, why is this so different to yesterday....?
ahhhhh, cos birds like to mix things up, and this above is an immature adult.
Immature birds have dull grey-brown plumage on their heads, wings, and backs, with numerous pale spots. Their underparts are paler and streaked with brown, and their eyes tend to be more orange.

Compare this with the adult here.... a black crown and back with the remainder of the body white or grey, red eyes, and short yellow legs.
