Fieldcraft

One thing I have worked hard on with my photography is fieldcraft and taking in-situ pictures of behaviour. Following on from my last post about the greater necklaced laughingthrush (Pterorhinus pectoralis). I recently had the chance to observe and get close to a small family of adults who were all taking turns to feed this one chick, who moved around. I tried to anticipate its trajectory across a small gully, and the keep still with my tripod, and was rewarded with these preening and feeding shots. You can see the food item here was a small Beautiful Pygmy Frog (which places these pix in Thailand/KK, but the bird is a HK species too).
