I think that this is the Plain's Cupid butterfly...anyway, its a small blue one, and the point of this post is to demonstrate a bit about depth of field.

Using a 50mm lens at a very shallow depth of field (f1.4) gives all the focus to the little butterfly, whilst blurring out its host plant.

then as we begin to close the aperture we bring more things into focus.

so this one at f5.6

this at f11

and lastly at f22 we have virtually the whole plant in focus.
