Tortoise beetles are a bizarre group. They look somewhat like tiny turtles with a colourful, or in some species translucent, carapace (the upper shell in turtles).
Here a pair look for each other prior to mating.

Hi Robert,
My name is Roxy. I've been living in HK with my husband for about 4 years now.
I was lucky enough to stumble across your blog whilst researching marine park locations.
I'm so inspired by your work!
We went on a mini hike in Tung Chung and came across this caterpillar! At first I thought it might be the caterpillar form of a red base jezebel. Any ideas as to what it is? :)
