RED BASE JEZEBEL (Delias pasithoe) Plenty of these around at the moment, seen in great numbers in the winter months....








Present all year, these butterflies can be found in great numbers, often late or early in the year in the colder months. Easy to recognise with its bright black, white, yellow and red colours, its funky looking caterpillar can be found on its shrubby vine host plant of Dendrotrophe varians. SEE THEM Look for their slow flight and bright colours on flowering plants. Common in urban parks, and on trees.


Andits funky looking caterpillar...quite unmistakable...
