I took this picture whilst waiting for the Kites on Sai Kung pier to swoop down and grab the entrails of the fisherman's discarded catch from their boats at the Sunday market. But here, i tracked a Grey Heron across the sea, as he searched for prey.
The first image above shows him with his catch, as he takes it out of the water.....unlike the elegant egrets, these guys make quite a splash, often getting their under carriage wet.
then I was lucky, as he turned with his catch, presenting a side view of the fish, firmly clasped in his beak.
