Another Agamid in HK

When I was on Tai Mo Shan the other day I took this picture of a lizard; and when I first saw it I was instantly aware that its head features differed from the local lizards I often see...and also the way it hugged the tree..and also its colouration. So I believe that this was not the local Changeable lizard (or Calotes wangi wangi as its now ID'd).... but I believe that this is Calotes mystaceus, the Indo-Chinese forest lizard or blue crested lizard, which up til now I had only found near the Magic Kingdom of Disney. The fact that this was on a road next to a nursery (for trees/plants) which looked as tho' they had imported palm trees gives this more credence. I put this on iNaturalist and had ID from people as a changeable...but I think this is the female blue crested lizard. The difference in head shape is not so noticeable in these photos...

The fact you can import trees covered in lizards/eggs makes a mockery of our border controls...and a great way to smuggle other items I would have thought....

Check back tomorrow to see the male.

UPDATE.... with thanks to Agnes and Iam.....on iNat. 4 distinctive marks on back.... now genus all revised, so is almost certainly Calotes geissleri or the Sagaing Blue Crested Agama.... seems to fit and most likely...
