The Poplar Hawk moth

Poplar Hawk-moth is not native to Hong Kong, so these pics are from my garden in England.
It is quite large with a wingspan of 6.5 to 10 cm and has scalloped, leaf-like grey, brown, or buff wings that mimic a cluster of dead leaves; and while at rest it holds its hindwings further forward than the forewings and curves its abdomen upward.
One thing I find amazing is that adults lack a functional proboscis and do not feed, surviving entirely on fat reserves accumulated during the caterpillar stage.
