Seen on the peaks....The Indian Red Admiral

Well, this is normally seen in India, high up in the mountains....and this was the first time for me to find one...high up on the peaks of Kadoorie Farm last week.

the Indian red admiral (Vanessa indica), or known as the Asian admiral in the United States.

This is a butterfly found in the higher altitude regions of India, primarily the Himalayas and the Nilgiri Hills. It is also found in Sri Lanka and Myanmar, China, Korea, SE Russia, Japan. It is a close relative of the painted lady.
