"Life (cycle) of the Hong Kong Newt" crowdfunding project I am very pleased to share some information about a great new project run by a passionate local eco team....about helping raise awareness of our lovely Hong Kong Newt.
Not withstanding that some numpties reported me to the AFCD for my wife handling a newt about 15 years ago, before we knew better...FYI it is against the law to handle or disturb these benign and wonderful amphibians!

"Life (cycle) of the Hong Kong Newt" crowdfunding project
"Life (cycle) of the Hong Kong Newt" is an exhibition telling the story of the Hong Kong newt's life. The Hong Kong newt is named after the city and is protected by the laws of Hong Kong. Its life, from egg to larvae to adult, holds significant value and is worth to document. Initially, I assumed that the life cycle would naturally continue in a repetitive manner. However, witnessing the tragic roadkill incidents completely altered the course of the story, ultimately leading to curate this exhibition.
The exhibition aims to provide us with a dedicated space to understand Hong Kong newts in a unique perspective. As the next spring approaches, we hope to collectively explore ways to assist them in overcoming these difficulties.

《一生螈命 - 生態影像藝術展》是一個展覽講述香港瘰螈一生的故事。香港瘰螈以香港命名，受香港法例保護，牠的生命從卵開始到幼體至成體都甚有記錄的價值，當初我以為生命週期周而復此是理所當然，直至目睹路殺的慘況後，令整個故事走向了另一極端，亦促成了今次展覽。
展覽分成四個部分，繪畫、攝影、錄像、裝置，由數位一直以生態保育為志業的成員主理，我們希望讓公眾在一個專屬香港瘰螈空間裡，以前所未有的角度認識香港瘰螈，在下個春季來臨時，共議協助牠們解困的方案。
我們同時需要大家的支持，眾籌是一個很有意思的活動，象徵著每個個體都能夠參與其中，支持與你價值觀相符的事。你們的支持才能令計劃得以實現或走得更遠，我們亦有賴各位把這個計劃分享出去，令更多人關注野生生物。
