IN this case this was a flock of Crested Bulbul or the Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus).

Here the star fruit has ripened on the trees, and they are eagerly eating the soft flesh.

But it does present a challenge for them to get to it, so it is quite amusing to see their acrobatics, and then they clasp a piece, and pull and turn their heads to try and pull the flesh apart.

They are not only frugivores (fruit eaters), they also enjoy a tasty insect, but these are harder to find at this time of year.
