NB: Every Saturday I do a blog about UK wildlife, so this is not found in HK, unless otherwise stated.
The Scottish wildcat (Felis silvestris silvestris) is one the UK's rarest and most threatened mammals.
Once widespread, wildcats are now on the brink of extinction in Scotland.
A sad history of habitat loss, persecution and, more recently, and perhaps most importantly, breeding with domestic cats, has forced the Highland Tiger to a point where the population is in threat of extinction.
