If you see a large, heavy bodied and long tailed skink, then it is the lovely Eutropis longicaudata, or
the longtail mabuya or even the long-tailed sun skink. I call them mabuyas, cos I can. its a common name.
These creatures can reach up to 40cm in length, and are often found sunning themselves, basking on boulders and at the edge of catchwaters.
The one below was surprised whilst hunting and you can see him tasting with this stumpy tongue in the first image.
Lays around 16 eggs, often to be found with Gecko eggs.
