Shooting into the light - 2

This first pic of the Oriental Magpie Robin was shot into the light, with only a little exposure compensation, giving a very dark image in the camera. I lifted the shadows a little in post production, and this gives me detail in the feathers and a dark sky and nice atmosphere and a true to what i saw rendition.

I also shot an image at the "correct exposure" for the bird, with exposure compensation of around +3. it is a nice clear shot of the bird, but the background is completely blown out and the edges of the bird are a bit fuzzy and the leaves have lost their original colour. Let me know what you think....
