Mothing in my UK garden
I would like to share with you some of the attractive moths that we have in our garden at night, in Southern England, as I am still stuck here, pending HK govt quarantine regulations changing.
First up we have the lovely Buff tip moth, such an interesting shape. It is not until you see it on a stick like the photo below that you can realise its amazing camouflage, where it is indistinguishable from a broken stick end. I hope you can see it!
this is the Black Arches moth, very common at the moment.
The next two images do not really do justice to this amazingly attractive moth, the Early Thorn moth.
And lastly, another common visitor, the very large Pine Hawk moth.
Ill be back with some more moth photos after a week or so of more HK animals, including the forthcoming python fest.
