Have you been to the new

Long Valley Nature Park? There is a great chance to join an Eco-tour there, organised by Encompass HK

Join Encompass for birdwatching at the new Long Valley nature Park! Full disclosure, i have joined many of these tours and have learned a lot from their guides, so i can heartily recommend them and FYI Encompass is my partner for my books in Hong Kong, so i have a long-standing relationship with them..

The newest eco-friendly spot in Hong Kong, Long Valley Nature Park (LVNP), has officially opened to the public. LVNP aims to promote wetland conservation, eco-friendly farming, and nature education in Hong Kong. Long Valley is the largest contiguous freshwater wetland in Hong Kong. The marshes and ponds serve as vital habitats and food sources for migratory birds from October through December each year. Nearly 320 species of birds have been recorded in Long Valley, representing more than half of all bird species in Hong Kong.

Since its conservation efforts began in 2019, Long Valley Nature Park has achieved remarkable results. Critically endangered Yellow-breasted Buntings, nests of Black-winged Stilts, and endangered Black-faced Spoonbills have all seen increases in their populations. The freshwater wetland in Long Valley provides an excellent habitat for amphibians, reptiles, and water birds alike. In addition to enhancing conservation efforts, LVNP has successfully met its goals for ecological preservation and sustainable agriculture.

The 37-hectare (91.4-acre) park is divided into three zones: a 5-hectare visitor zone, an 11-hectare agriculture zone, and a 21-hectare biodiversity zone. The visitor area is designed for the public to explore various habitats, including rice paddies, shallow ponds, reed beds, lotus ponds, water spinach fields, watercress fields, and dry farmlands.

This new park is perfect for birdwatching, so join us for an excursion and enjoy birdwatching with our experienced guide!

Tour Fee: $380 for adults, $320 for children under 8 (minimum age is 3 years old) I have taken many great pictures there...this is not one of them! but these are some of the birds you may find there....
