The Brown Boobook is a small but fierce nocturnal owl found across much of Asia.

The Brown Boobook gives a repeated “whoop-whoop” or hollow double-note call, often heard at night in forests and wooded parks. Once you learn the sound, it becomes much easier to detect than to actually see.
