Occasionally I will take a photo and it is not until later that I realise that there was something hidden or special in the image that I had not seen or realised; such is the case here.

You can see this mating pair, that I was lucky to get close to...but look at the right hind leg of the male on the left...he has an ant head still gripping his leg; clearly from a previous battle.

Following up on yesterday's post this is of course the Spy bug or more commonly THE (Golden Spotted) TIGER BEETLE - or the proper latin name: Cicindela aurulenta.
