Another Scops Owl

This is the oriental scops owl (Otus sunia)

Just a migrant visitor, and so very tiny!

Its big eyes help it see at dusk and night, here taken in the shadows as the sun disappeared.

The yellow eyes and markings make it easy to distinguish from the Collared Scops owl, which is also slightly larger.

Here it is waking up. it does have ear tufts, but they are not displayed here.
