We have a wide variety and range of grasshoppers here in Hong Kong.
And they look really amazing close up, with fantastic colours and stripes that you cannot easily see with the just the eye.
From teeny weeny hoppers like these...
to the giant short horned grasshoppers, which can get up to 12cm, and look like large locusts.
All these grasshoppers are so attractive and provide food for a vast amount of other insects and reptiles.
All of these animals were found within 1/2 hour on a walk the other day behind my house in SaiKung.
