Birds are feathered, winged, two-legged, warm-blooded, egg-laying vertebrates. They also have a beak, a four-chambered heart, and a lightweight but strong skeleton.
There are a total of 522 species of birds in Hong Kong, many of which are transitory migrants. Twenty-three have been introduced from overseas, and out of the total number twenty-nine species are globally threatened.
