Guest Post and pictures - Blue-winged Leafbird.

I was in Tai Po Kau last month with Mike Hoskins, a lovely young welsh bloke, whose photography is improving leaps and bounds. He has invested in some new kit, and is really using it to great advantage.

I was up at the coral trees waiting with my tripod for a special sunbird, whilst Mike popped down to some other trees and got these excellent portraits. Jealous, moi?

this is what Mike says:

"Is this the most impressive bird in Hong Kong? Maybe. It is the Blue-winged Leafbird, or if you want to sound clever you can call it Chloropsis cochinchensis. The black mask tells us that this is a male, what a handsome fella!"
