The pretty and common Green Cascade Frog has another name - The Malodorous Frog - which is not so nice, but also describes this lovely frog. They can often be seen across Hong Kong at night near streams and water catchments, and it has large hind legs allowing it to jump some distance.
Called The Malodorous Frog as this species is able to secrete a milky fluid on its skin when disturbed. The secretion is toxic and caustic with pungent smell. The female is 2-3 times larger than the the male. Odorrana chloronota is its latin name. Here my wife's embroidery for a quilt covered in animals.
